Article II of our bylaws

Membership

All members collectively constitute the General Body of PTM — the foundational assembly that elects the Executive Council and shapes the direction of the organization.

Types of members

Regular Members

All active participants of PTM. They may vote in organizational matters, participate in events, serve on committees, and stand for election to the Executive Council.

Permanent Members

Stewards of PTM's founding values, capped at seven individuals. They safeguard continuity, advise the Executive Council and review membership appeals.

Honorary Members

Individuals or entities who have made exceptional contributions to the community or PTM's mission. Their membership fees are paid by PTM; voting rights are granted only for specific purposes.

Section 1

  • Granted to adults, either as individuals or families (up to two adults). There is no separate category for children.
  • Fees are reviewed and set annually by the Executive Council and duly communicated to members.
  • Fees are due annually, unless a member elects the lifetime membership option, payable in a single installment.
  • Applicants affirm a commitment to integrity, inclusivity and service to the community and Tamil culture.

Section 4

  • Uphold the core values of community, integrity, cultural preservation and service.
  • Actively contribute to the growth, sustainability and positive reputation of PTM.
